"Netorare Wife Misumi" is the second game created by the English language VN circle Azienda, and just like the title clearly reveals to us, it also focuses on NTR. This time though, it's a more traditional husband/wife NTR, instead of the lesser mother/son variation seen in the developer's previous game. Sadly, the developer hasn't started a third game yet, and from what they have stated, it appears they want to get better before they get back into the VN creation. So, how does the second effort fare in comparison to the first game? Well, it's a bit of a mixed bag.

First of all, I want to applaud the developer's continuing use of drawn graphics and not succumbing to the 3D rendering craze, like many Patreon creators did. From a graphical standpoint the game looks good, and even great for an OELVN. Admittedly, I did have a problem with some character designs, and more specifically, the main female character Misumi herself. For some godforsaken reason, the devs decided to give her ridiculously oversized breasts that are almost twice as big as her head, which makes it hard to take her seriously. Why though? You are supposed to read a hard-hitting fap story about a wife being stolen from her husband, but all you can think about is her huge boobs... It's in particular contrast to the only other female character in the game Chiyo, who has a completely normal-sized pair of titties. I think the devs went really overboard regarding Misumi's character design.
Now that I have vented a bit about my main gripe, let's discuss the plot. Shoma (the name can be changed) and Misumi are a husband and a wife, who have recently moved to the new apartment recommended by Shoma's cousin Chiyo. It's not long before the couple meet their new neighbour Isao, who is a muscular thug. From there it's kind of predictable that Isao will worm his way into Misumi's panties and we are probably gonna get a few endings with different outcomes.

Admittedly, I did get surprised by the number of endings, since Azienda outdone themselves by providing us the whole 11 of them. It's not a surprise that with such a high number of endings, some of them are not very inspiring, but there still are some strong finales among them. In essence the story has two major splits, and the first one actually allows you to remove Isao from the picture. With no main antagonist, we enter the route where Shoma and Misumi are a happy couple and we get various happily ever after endings. Yes, I said endings! Usually the NTR-focused games include only one simple end where netorare is avoided, and it's more akin to a quick bad end. I have to commend the developers on not only producing an actual Vanilla route, but branching it even further into a few outcomes. This was definitely a surprise, but a welcome one!
The second major split occurs later in the netorare route and concerns Misumi's demeanor toward Isao: whether they become actual lovers or something like sex friends. I think both of those routes contain at least one very strong ending, but I'm personally partial to the "sex friends" route, as it finally involves Chiyo, who had nothing to do on any other path. On the other hand, the "love" route does end up showing Misumi's corruption better, and the things she is willing to do to please Isao (like secretly humiliating Shoma), so in the end which route is better for you will depend on your preferences.

But let's not forget this is a NTR game, which is why the question we must ask is not "How is the story?", but "How is the NTR?". And frankly, the netorare aspect in this game is... a pretty weak one. Oh, there are a few things that are done well. Netorare comes slowly, and the developers spend their time establishing the character relationship, both in an emotional and the sexual way. We are able to witness Shoma and Misumi having sex multiple times, before Isao even enters the picture, which helps to establish what Shoma has to lose if Isao wins. Moreover, the couple's sexual relationship continues even after Isao starts playing with Misumi, which helps us to see how Misumi's outlook toward sex starts changing as the time goes on.
That said, the characters seem to lack passion and conviction. The netorare just seems to happen one day out of the blue, and Misumi sort of goes along with it, even if she doesn't want to betray Shoma. At the same time Isao sort of goes along with fucking Misumi, and this creates the feeling that all the characters are sleepwalking and just sort of doing things they have no particular passion for. This continues for some time, before the game eventually gets its second wind after Misumi predictably becomes enamored with Isao's big D. And this is my main problem with a big portion of the game. It's unclear how we should even characterize the NTR portrayed within. Misumi is neither really forced to do lewd acts for Isao, nor is she actually willing, so a reader also gets confused why the netorare is even happening. There is no force to move it forward, and the reader interest just sorta plummets down.

Not counting our main couple and the antagonist, there are also two other named characters in the game. That would be Shoma's cousin Chiyo and his coworker Nobuo. Sadly they do not have much to do in the game. Chiyo does get a late comeback in one of the routes, which is probably the route I have enjoyed the most, however Nobuo seems like the third wheel most of the time - a typical idiot friend who gets no pussy in the game. There were some hints that maybe the devs intended to have another major story split with a proper open relationship involving Nobuo, but that goes anywhere, and the hints might have just been red herrings.
Despite some misgivings about the plot, the sex scenes are very well done, with rough sex, some BDSM, discreet sex, prostitution, gangbangs, glory holes and etc. While there are no extreme fetishes in the game, the existing content is kinky and arousing, so the game is absolutely enjoyable as is. However, I feel that some aspects of it could be improved. Despite being shorter, and more simplistic, I probably consider Azienda's first game to be a better showing of the developer's talents.

That said, "Netorare Wife Misumi" is an above average visual novel for those who are a fans of this particular fetish. It's definitely better than many offers coming from Patreon or other sources and has some solid endings and great sex scenes, thus I don't think the fans will regret playing it.
