What's Mine Is Yours: Season 1 Review

Title: What's Mine Is Yours: Season 1
Release date: 2020-08-29
Developer & publisher: VitalSigns

I am hard pressed to think of another fetish as underrepresented, both among the English translated and originally English language visual novels, as cuckqueaning. Up until now I was aware of only one translated VN dealing with this subject, so I'm really glad that a developer by the name of VitalSigns is making a series of short novels specifically revolving around this fetish. Let's try the first of those novels, and see if there is anything worth reading within.

Nariyuki → Papakatsu Girls!! Mini-Review

Title: Nariyuki → Papakatsu Girls!!
Original title: なりゆき→パパ活GIRLS!!
Alias: LF Sugar Daddy GIRLS!!
Release date: 2017-03-01
English release date: 2018-10-01
Developer: Courreges Ace
English publisher: NTRanon (as a fan-patch)

"Nariyuki → Papakatsu Girls!!" was one of the short games translated in a bulk with a few of the other short nukiges by an anonymous user, later labeled NTRanon. Despite the alias, not all of his games deal with the NTR fetish, and "NP Girls" instead centers on slutty girls and the corruption of a (relatively) innocent high-schooler.

Mother's Lessons ~Mitsuko~ Mini-Review

Title: Mother's Lessons ~Mitsuko~
Release date: 2020-09-27
Developer & publisher: NTRMAN

"Mother's Lessons" is the second mother-centric netorare game I have played within the last few months, and it just might be the most wholesome NTR game in existence. Ironically, it's that very fact that makes it less interesting than it could have been.

My Mother Kyoko - NTR Fallen Review

Title: My Mother Kyoko - NTR Fallen
Release date: 2020-09-11
Developer & publisher: Azienda

Ain't it nice, when a visual novel proudly advertises its genre within the title itself? There is no ambiguity what the game is about, and you can safely dive inside knowing you will get exactly what it says on the tin. Just looking at the title itself, from the both dreaded and coveted three letter combination we can conjecture, that this visual novel is NTR themed, with the protagonist's mother as a central character. Let's dive deeper, in order to see if the title is any good for an original English language release.

Teaser ~ Date ~ Kanon Mini-Review

Title: Teaser ~ Date ~ Kanon
Release date: 2020-12-12
Developer & publisher: FullBluff Studio

"Teaser ~ Date ~ Kanon" is a short and sweet NTR themed one-shot kinetic novel. I say "one-shot", as it is literally a teaser encompassing a single date between our protagonist Hiro, and his girlfriend Kanon. The developer released it as part of their learning how to create visual novels, and the game ends ambiguously, with a "To be continued..?" message at the end. However, I have to say, I liked the game enough I hope the developer will go on with the VN making and will release a proper continuation wit the same characters.

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Review

Title: New Dangan Ronpa V3 Minna no Koroshiai Shingakki
Original title: NEWダンガンロンパV3 みんなのコロシアイ新学期
Alias: Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
Release date: 2017-01-12
English release date: 2017-09-26
Developer: Spike Chunsoft
English publishers: Spike Chunsoft (PC)
NIS America (PS4/PSV)

Over the years, the Danganronpa series became pretty extensive, not only with video games of a few different genres, but also with anime and even novels composing the franchise. For someone not going out of their way to read up on the series, it may come as a surprise that the continuity is less clear cut than may be expected. I, for example, had no idea initially that Danganronpa 1 and 2 got capped up in the anime series Danganronpa 3, which in fact has no relation to the final game known as "Killing Harmony".

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Review

Title: Super Dangan Ronpa 2 Sayonara Zetsubou Gakuen
Original title: スーパーダンガンロンパ2 さよなら絶望学園
Aliases: Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair
Release date: 2012-07-26
English release date: 2014-09-02 (PSV)
2016-04-18 (PC)
Developer: Spike Chunsoft
English publisher: NIS America (PSV)
Spike Chunsoft (PC)

In reality, I have played the sequel to "Danganronpa" a few years ago, but never got around to writing a review for it. Recently, with an intention to finally play the third part of the trilogy, I have reacquainted myself with the game and decided to write a post regarding it.

"Danganronpa 2" is the middle part in the trilogy (not counting a side action title), thus a review of it will inevitably have mild spoilers for the first part, though I will try to minimize them. And thus, without further ado, I invite you to attend the Hope's Peak academy once more... Wait, what?!

Depraved Awakening Review

Title: Depraved Awakening
Release date: 2018-11-24
Developer & publisher: Philly Games

When you go exploring the dark and seedy underworld of Patreon-funded visual novels, you more keenly than ever start appreciating the Sturgeon's Law. The wast majority of these VNs range from terribad to merely mediocre in quality, with a few good ones with potential hidden here and there. Finding an excellent VN on Patreon is, well, not impossible, but certainly hard enough. I won't be dragging my assessment of Philly Games' visual novel "Depraved Awakening" until the end of the review - rather I will tell you straight away: It's one of the best, if not the best original English language visual novel I have ever had the pleasure of playing. So, here's them apples.

Oppaidius: Summer Trouble! Review

Title: Oppaidius: Summer Trouble!
Release date: 2018-11
Developer & publisher: SbargiSoft

A while ago an Italian dude named Vittorio (most likely no relation to a certain vampire... most likely) ran a Kickstarter campaign for a short visual novel that banked on the nostalgia for the old school 90's graphics and sound in order to succeed. Surprisingly it worked, which is just showcasing why pixel graphics games are so popular nowadays. Moreover, he used as bait his pledge to hire actual Japanese composers from the appropriate time period to work on some tracks.
