Cursed Desires Walkthrough

"Cursed Desires" is a puzzle-centric adventure game, developed by Vonwert, best known for creating "Dark Illusions" - a "Nocturnal Illusion" visual novel remake in RPG Maker.

While "Dark Illusions" remained a visual novel, albeit with inserted adventure game elements , "Cursed Desires" focuses on puzzle solving. It's a story of a missing treasure of the famous female pirate Anne Bonny, which is sought out by our protagonist Lex Johnson. He travels from place to place and has to solve a puzzle course each time, in order to acquire each piece of the treasure.

Unlike "Dark Illusions", the game seems to be fully linear and doesn't have any hidden paths or secrets. Hence, this walkthrough should be a 100 % solution to the game.

Hampton Mansion

Clock-like room:
Put the three orbs in the 12, 4 and 10 o'clock positions.

Solve the two simple mathematical problems. The answers are 60 and 24, hence the code is 6024. Press the buttons, taking into account that 1 is in the top left position.

Step on the lilies and avoid hitting any switches. the approximate path looks like this:

Franklin Mansion

Switches: 2143.

There are three columns of buttons with a switch at the top. You have to press one or more buttons and then hit the switch in every column.
1. First column: middle button.
2. Second column: top button.
3. Third column: top and bottom buttons.

Enter an open area with five exits. They all lead to puzzle rooms. You have to solve all of them to proceed.
Room 1: Use platforms 3 and 5 and then hit the switch.

Room 2: The antechamber portrays the solution to the next puzzle. Use it as a reference.

Room 3: Press right switch once and then the middle switch.

Room 4: Light the torches in the following order: bottom-left, top-right, top-left, bottom-right.

Room 5: Put the objects in the following positions:
1. Top left: heart.
2. Top right: ship.
3. Bottom left: wine.
4. Bottom right: coffin.
Press the switch.

Church of St. Margaret

1. Press the switch.
2. Set the Light Device to face North.
3. Activate the Light Device.

1. Hit the two bottom switches.
2. Activate the Light Device.

Avoid the obstacles while controlling Marco and choose the lowermost path.

Press the switches under the skulls and ornaments (except for the ornament by the door).

Hit the switches, when the bottom part of the ladder is right under the top part.

Avoid the pressure plates with spikes. It's easy to do by trial and error.

Avoid the death plates and hit the switch. It will open the door, but will render the plates invisible, thus memorise their placement well.

Cemetery

Press the third switch.

Answer is Derek.

Combination is 468 (that one was brutal to obtain - only Google helped).

Avoid death plates and take the bottle labeled "Wednesday" to the required place. Taking the bottle renders the plates invisible, thus their placement should be memorised. The best route is along the leftmost wall.

Take the chest labeled "Ear". Put it in the right place and hit the switch.

1. Ferry the chicken across
2. Return
3. Ferry the fox across and take the chicken
4. Return the chicken
5. Take the corn and ferry it across
6. Return and ferry the chicken across.

Escape the maze while being chased by the zombies. The exit is slightly towards your right.

Take the path that has the plaque "Your father".

Take the path to the right of the T-shape.

Take the rightmost path.

Take the path labeled "Bermuda Triangle".

Iara's Tomb

Hit the switch labeled "guava".

Take the lantern labeled "augment" and place it in the appropriate spot.

1. "Boys" switch: hit 4 times.
2. "Girls" switch: hit 6 times.
Hit the switch by the barrel and boxes.

Hit the "M" switch and then the main switch.

Dogs = 17
Chickens = 34
Spiders = 68
Hit the main switch.

Enter "25" and hit the main switch.

Follow Marco's path in the next two rooms, as deviating from the path means instant death.

In this room you have to uncover identical pictures by pressing buttons. Guess wrong one too many times and you are a gonner. There are 12 buttons. If we consider the top-left button to be 1, the combinations are as follows:
1 - 8
2 - 9
3 - 4
5 - 11
6 - 10
7 - 12

Captivity

You control Marco first. The plaque blatantly tells you how to operate the trash compactor:
Up / Down / Up / Down / Down / Up. Then press the red button. Return with the key to Lex.

Pearl's Vault

Hit the "what" switch and then the main switch.

Enter 335 and hit the switch.

***

Press the switch twice, then hit the switch near the barrel.

***

Memorise and follow Marco's path.

***

Turn all the tiles into unicorns. That's easy to do without any directions.

Slide into the exit:

Amazon Jungle

As Lex: Spell "Camel" and hit a switch.

As Iara: Put the jar labeled "Silence" in an appropriate spot.

***

As Lex: Turn all the tiles into unicorns.
As Iara: Press the switch and exit the area.
As Lex: Exit the area.

Enter 42, 44 and 46. Hit the switch.

***

As Iara: Press the buttons: 891.

***

As Iara & Lex: Hit the switch and jump into the hole.

***

Solve the labyrinth. You'll know you are on the right path, if you experience hallucinations at certain points.

Enter 144 and hit the switch.

***

Mermaid's Graveyard

Joe: Green and Red.
James: Red and Blue
Jack: Black and Green
Jim: Black and Blue
Activate the orbs and hit the switch.

Take the "Time" jar and put it in an appropriate spot.

***

West room: Put the "Raven" barrel in an appropriate spot.
East room: Once again, follow Marco's path to the switch and hit it.
North-west room: "9 minutes". Hit the switch.
North-east room: "13 gloves". Hit the switch.
Return to the walkway over the water and climb the ladder, which has dropped down.

Round 2: Bottom / Left / Top
Round 3: Top / Right / Right

Turn all the tiles into unicorns. The puzzle appears to be more difficult than the others. I found it best to start at the bottom and hug the left wall. Don't worry if you ruin the right wall, as you can always walk off the tiles and fix the image with a second pass.

As Marco: Avoid the obstacles, hit the two switches and then hit the "Thursday" switch.
Hit the "stars" switch.
Choose the middle path and avoid the obstacles again.
Press the three switches, while avoiding the obstacles.
Avoid the obstacles again and press the switch.
