This is the second “Softhouse-Seal” title I have played, thus a comparison with “Sexy Demon Transformation!” is inevitable. I will unload a burden of my shoulders and say that I liked “Boob Wars” better of the two. As to why… read on.

While reviewing SDT I have already said that its premise was laughable at best, nothing beats the idiocy that the setting for “Boob Wars” is. In short, in the 22nd century an epidemic or something similar wiped out all women of moderate breast size. Only females with A or smaller and E and bigger bust sized remained in the world. Soon prejudices and racial segregation began between the two phenotypes and a full blown war commenced. It’s been going for a long time and eating at the resources of the land. In order to stop it, erorist (sic) organization “Eagle” decided to deploy their best agent Takamura Manabu, whose task is to bring peace to the land at all cost.
A much more peaceful organization than al-Qaeda.
Yes, the premise is as absurd as it sounds, but that is not a bad thing. At the very least it’s more consistent than the everchanging goals of Yamato from SDT. And don’t tell me, that the shear idiocy didn’t make you smile at least once.

The aforementioned Manabu is a master erorist, who has satisfied many a woman during his service to the organization. Just like the protagonist of SDT, he is only a small step away from being a “blank slate” with almost no personality. Technically he is quite a likable guy, but it’s simply hard to hate someone, who is poorly characterized and displays no negative aspects. Well, at the very least I share his sentiment that it doesn’t matter what the boob size is. All the busts are equally wonderful. :-)

In order to bring peace to the world, he may choose one of three paths: ally with either Flat Chests or Big Breasts, or try to reconcile them. There are actually no significant traditional choices in the game (unless you count all those “Where to cum?” instances). The route is decided by going after the general and then after the queen of the Tribe you choose. For reconciliation purposes you have to choose both generals.
You are spurting blood from the nose, Manabu.
The game is interspersed with card battle segments that signify sword fights between our erorist and a certain enemy. Usually that’s a general or a queen, but no-name nobodies also attack you as you advance toward your goal. I actually liked those battles that reminded me of “Princess Waltz”. The actual mechanics are a bit simpler, but engaging nonetheless. Moreover, you can skip the battles altogether on your second playthrough if you want to go though the game quicker. Also, I found one battle I couldn’t win no matter what. I’m sure you know what I’m speaking about and I wonder if it’s a totally unbeatable fight or if there is some trick to win.

The game is quite short and doesn’t employ all the characters to the fullest, but it’s a bit sad that many heroines are so underrepresented. There are two main heroines and four secondary female characters. Two of them (Annie and Naomi) don’t even get proper detailed sprites and we can only see their faces in two (graphically identical) sex scenes. *low budget ahoy* However the saddest thing is that the generals are relegated to play the second cello, which is a shame as Sofia is my favourite character of the game. *sigh*
Make love, not war.
The main heroines are obviously Teresa Premadasa, Queen of Flat Chests Tribe, and Milk Elioto, Queen of Big Breasts tribe… (A big breasted woman named Milk? Seriously?) So, yeah, Milk is a shy and modest girl that is adored by her retainers and she herself doesn’t want war, but her warmongering ministers always do something stupid that prolongs the conflict. She is an adorable young woman and, while I usually do not like shy girls, she somehow grew on to me. What’s more, her Super Drunken Queen Miruku Mode is absolutely adorable. :-D

Teresa is a flat-chested tsundere loli Queen and a fierce and proud warrior. For the last few years her troops were pushing Big Breast Tribe back. Frankly I liked her less than Milk, because of her childish temper tantrums in relation to Big Breasts. Of course it’s just my opinion.
A friendly contest.
Some special notice should be taken of generals, who, as I have already said, were dreadfully underemployed. I cannot say much about Suzuka as she is as bland as possible, but Sofia needs to be mentioned. She is the rarest female eroge archetype in existence and subsequently my most favourite. In short, Sofia is a sexually assured woman. She likes sex, she wants sex and she is not ashamed to tell it loudly to anyone who would listen. She is wont to display her body and to take initiative in an intercourse. As I said, this is a rarest character archetype, because Japanese have a baffling natural aversion to woman like that… My opinion is that eroge in general would be better of if they portrayed more heroines like that. Small wonder that I like femdom games like MGQ or “Discipline”.

The H-scenes are mostly as vanilla as they were in “Sexy Demon Transformation!”. However, to my great satisfaction there were a few yuri and bondage scenes and, of course, I’m a fan of yuri and bondage. ;-) The scenes were also longer than those in SDT, but didn’t really get too long or boring. Additionally, every route has one animated sex scene (animated boobjob by Milk is glorious), but that is no more than a gimmick to whet our appetite. The worst thing is that sex CGs do not reflect the changes described in the text. For example, in scenes where our heroine boobs shrink or enlarge, that change is not represented visually and really takes out of the experience. Probably that has more to do with budget reasons than with anything else, but I don't believe that the company couldn't spare some expenses for at least two more CGs.
I like to think, that Teresa left Suzuka in bondage gear for the reminder of the game after this scene.
The biggest different between SDT and BS (not to be confused with bullshit) is obviously better graphics in the latter. The sprite and CG art is great (though I have to level an obvious complaint about genital reconstruction here too – Manabu’s penis looks just weird). The backgrounds are of lower quality and there are shared art assets betwixt the two games. Unfortunately, the sound remains the absolutely worst aspect of the VN and it will kill your ears if you listen for too long. I also forgot to mention a small detail in my review of SDT, but in both games a very audible pause occurs when a music track loops. That just screams of laziness, but what can you do... The way “Softhouse-Seal” churns out games, there is no way they would be a high quality fare.

Still, at the very least “Boob Wars” beats SDT in “plot” (har har), graphics and gameplay departments. It’s a short little nukige with not much substance, but if you want a short fap, you might want to check it out.

Oh, for the "unbeatable" battle that you can't win no matter what (excluding the ones where you go after the queens first, of course), it's actually possible to win, but you need a lot of luck. I tried it countless times before managing to do it, and all it does is skip to the next scene as if nothing happened. -_-
